About

Pocket Offline started as a shared notes file between a few friends who kept getting stuck on trains with nothing decent to play. We got tired of downloading games that turned into loading screens the moment the bars disappeared. So we began keeping a list of what actually worked without a connection, and the list turned into this site.

We play everything ourselves before writing a word. Nobody on the team reviews a game they haven't finished at least a few hours of. If something falls apart offline, drains the battery in an hour, or nags you to reconnect every two minutes, it doesn't make the cut.

Our selection leans toward variety. We don't want to be a puzzle-only site or an RPG-only site. A good offline library has a bit of everything — something quick for a five-minute wait, something deep for a long flight. We test on mid-range phones too, not just flagships, because that's what most people actually carry.

The site is free and independent. No publisher pays us to say nice things, and we say so plainly when a game annoyed us.
